David broke all conventions by featuring dramatic actors like Robert Stack and Leslie Nielsen performing comedic roles with straight-laced sincerity. This created an entirely new comedic genre and earned David worldwide recognition and accolades.

His iconic films, Airplane! and The Naked Gun are considered to be one of the best comedy movies of all time. ALL TIME!!! They each top best-of rankings by AFI (American Film Institute), Rolling Stone, IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Screenrant, Esquire, and many others... just google it will ya!

Looking back on his career, actor Leslie Nielsen said that Zucker was his favorite director to work with. Nielsen said of him, "He came to me and said, 'Leslie, I'll never make you do anything that is not funny.' And he kept his word."

Outside of making people laugh, David has been a prominent advocate of environmental causes, having served on the board of TreePeople, an LA-based organization committed to promoting community-based tree planting and ecological solutions. He has received numerous honors for his charitable work, including the annual Evergreen Award.
