Amy+Pilar

Amy York Rubin & Pilar Boehm are a directing/writing duo, partners in all things, life and art, and the funniest people they know!

Amy made her bones as a comedy director on shorts and promos with Amy Schumer, Kate Mckinnon and Sarah Silverman. She went on to direct shows like FRESH OFF THE BOAT, CASUAL, SUPERSTORE and ANGIE TRIBECA. She also directed the pilot of the hit Netflix comedy, DEAD TO ME.

Prior to teaming up, Pilar was a psychotherapist in New York, but she couldn’t stop cracking jokes. They kicked off their directing collab on SYNCHRONY BANK, with comedy queen, Maribeth Monroe. They went on to direct the pilot of LOVE, VICTOR on Hulu, as well as spots for UBER’s Go-Get campaign, and SHIFT, with Martin Starr.

While Amy was her 8th grade’s School Safety Bus Patrol Captain, Pilar was smoking ciggies at the bodega. Or, possibly, in detention.
